Brock Lesnar, known to many as “The Next Big Thing” from his days in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), has proved he has what it takes to be “The Next Big Thing” in the Ultimate Fighting Championships.

Currently holding the UFC Heavyweight title, Brock will face Frank Mir, Interim UFC Heavyweight champion, to unify the belts and once and for all, determine who the true champion of the Heavyweight division is.

World Wrestling Entertainment

Brock first appeared in the World Wrestling Entertainment ring in 2002’s WWE Monday Night RAW.

Brock was the 2002 King of the Ring and went on to win the WWE undisputed championship belt, after beating “The Rock” at the 2002 Summerslam pay per view. Brock continued in the WWE having matches against opponents such as, The undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle and many other WWE superstars.

In 2004 Brock Lesnar had his final run in the WWE losing his championship belt to Bill Goldberg and the support of his fans in the process. Brock pursued a brief career in the National Football League (NFL) before hanging up his helmet for a shot at mixed martial Arts.

K-1 Dynamite

Brock made his mixed martial arts debut in 2006 at K-1 Dynamite where he captures his first victory against Min Soo Kim, after his original challenger Choi Hon-Man was unable to compete.

Ultimate Fighting Championships

Debuting at UFC 81 – Breaking point where he meet and lost to Frank Mir via submission victory, Lesnar dominated the octagon and his opponent in Heath Herring,

in his second match at UFC 87 – Seek and Destroy, walking away with a unanimous decision victory.

It was in his third UFC match, that Brock made a statement and took his place in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and showed that he planned on staying around for some time to come. At UFC 91 Brock Lesnar took out veteran and six time champion Randy “The Natural” Coutour in the second round, by relentless blows to the head and face of the former Heavyweight champ, winning the match and capturing the Heavyweight title.

At UFC 92- The Ultimate 2008, the interim title match took place where the then interim champion Antionio Rodrigo Noguiera, met Frank Mir; both coaches in the Ultimate Fighter season 8, Mir won the match via TKO.

At that same event Brock was vocal on his wanting Mir to win, so he could have a rematch and avenge his debut loss. Lesnar proclaimed that he was not the true Heavyweight champion until the belts are unified and then the man left standing would be considered the true champion.

After Frank Mir became the new interim champion he taunted Brock, claiming that the Heavyweight title belonged to him, gesturing with his hands that the unified belt would be around his waist. In his post fight interview Mir sent a clear message to the champ and fans, that he would be the Heavyweight champion.

Lesnar and Mir were expected face off in a unification bout for the Heavyweight title at UFC 98. However, as reported on MMAweekly, due to a knee injury to Mir, a match up between the two Heavyweights has been postponed, and now rumoured to take place at UFC 100.
