Kimbo Slice and The Ultimate Fighter 10Will He get Another Chance at Fighting on TUF Season 10?
Kimbo Slice was defeated in his first fight on The Ultimate Fighter, but he could get back on the show with an injury to another fighter.
Kimbo Slice came into The Ultimate Fighter 10 (TUF 10) with a lot of hype and a lot of media attention. Whether it was a kind gesture by Dana White to offer Kimbo a chance at fighting in the UFC or just a media stunt to boost season ten of TUF's ratings, we'll never know. The one thing that is for sure is that it has probably done both. At this point in the show, Kimbo is begging and pleading for a second chance, but the only way he is going to be able to get it is if one of his teammates snag a somewhat serious injury. The Ultimate Fighter Season 10TUF 10 is centered on one weight division, heavyweights. Anyone who has watched the show knows that these guys are huge and it provides for a very entertaining show. Up to this point, Rashad Evan's team, also known as Team Rashad, has dominated Rampage Jackson's team, also known as Team Rampage. There have been six weeks up to this point and Team Rashad has won all six fights. The fighters are made up of a wide array of personalities and experience levels. Some guys have fought professionally for years and have plenty of experience, while there are others who are much less experienced. The one thing these guys have in common is they are all competing for the same goal, a $100,000 contract from the UFC. There are some really good fighters left on the show and the rest of the season will be very entertaining. Each fighter has a long way to go before being crowned the champion of TUF 10. Kimbo SliceIn all reality, Kimbo Slice will probably not have another chance at the $100,000 up for grabs on The Ultimate Fighter 10. He lost his first fight to Roy Nelson, who is a seasoned veteran in the octagon. Kimbo just didn't live up to the hype in this fight. His stand up was fairly strong as expected, but he was not able to stay off of his back, and Nelson dominated the ground game until the referee had to stop the fight. At this point in the competition, Kimbo would need one of his teammates to go down with an injury for him to have a chance at fighting again. With his teammates dropping like flies in their fights in the octagon, his chances are becoming more and more slim. He only has a couple guys left on his team who are actually still in the competition. Everytime a potential injury situation arises, the camera immediately pans to Kimbo and he seems more estatic than concerned. He badly wants another chance to fight. Whether or not that will happen is unkown, but there is no way he can compete if he fights at the same level he fought in his first fight. Whether Kimbo fights again in The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 again or not, this experience is bound to help him improve. He is in the gym with some of the best fighters and coaches in the world and he is able to continue improving his skills. Although his first fight was unimpressive to say the least, there is an undeniable fire in his eyes. He wants to get better and he wants to fight in the UFC. It has yet to be seen whether or not Dana White will allow him to fight in the UFC after the show. Dana White likes guys that sells tickets and pay-per-views. While he has had some harsh criticisms for Kimbo in the past, he has now given him a chance to become a UFC fighter. With the media frenzy surrounding Slice, it would be nearly impossible to see White not giving him a contract. Only time will tell whether or not Kimbo Slice is good enough to fight in the UFC and if he ever will.
