Kimbo Slice will face Houston Alexander in his first UFC fight. The fight will probably take place at The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale. Both fighters are powerful strikers.
Kimbo Slice will have a UFC career after all. It has yet to be seen how long it will be, but it appears that Kimbo will get his first official UFC fight at The Utlimate Fighter 10 finale. His opponent will be Houston Alexander. Alexander is a powerful striker that has had ups and downs in his two and a half year UFC career. Kimbo Slice Fights in the UFC Kimbo Slice has came a long way since being a youtube sensation. He took the fighting world by storm via social media. This vaulted him into a career in which he was fighting on national television and was winning fights and fans. After a devestating first round loss, Kimbo found himself in uncharted territory. Dana White, the president of the UFC, has a history of criticizing Slice. Nonetheless, White gave Kimbo a chance to prove himself on season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter. Although he lost his first fight, the experience allowed him to learn and become a more well-rounded fighter. It is yet to be seen whether or not he will fight on TUF 10, but this scheduled fight with Alexander tells us that he will not be in the finals of the show. Not that it's unexpected, but it does ruin any hopes that his fans had of him making a comeback and possibly winning the show. Houston Alexander's UFC Career Houston Alexander first fought in the UFC in May of 2007. He stormed on to the scene defeating Keith Jardine via knockout in the first round. He followed that fight up with another first round knockout and seemed to be cementing himself as a light heavyweight contender. What a difference two years makes. He has now lost his last three fights all by knock out or submission in the first round. This could be a bad position for him to be in. He will be expected to be a little more experienced than Kimbo and he should win the fight because of that. If he does win, people will say that he just did what he was supposed to and that Kimbo still has some learning to do before he is a legit UFC fighter. If he loses the fight, it could be the end of his UFC career. It is a lot of pressure for someone who has lost his last three fights, but he definitely was not going to turn down the opportunity. The UFC probably strategically picked this fight for Kimbo Slice. They know that he will provide a huge rating boost for any event and of course they want him to fight. They definitely couldn't place him against a fighter with a strong ground game, because let's face it, Kimbo's ground game has a long way to go. Alexander is a strong striker, as is Slice. This fight should be a slug fest and Kimbo won't be in much trouble if it does go to the ground. Even though he will probably have to lose some weight to fight in the light heavyweight division, he will not be giving up a lot of weight like he was against Roy Nelson on TUF 10. The fight should be very exciting. The way that these fighters swing for the fences it would be surprising to see this make it out of the first round. One thing is for sure; you won't want to miss this one.
