Six fights lead the undercard this Saturday for the Ultimate Fighting Championships 104: Machida vs. Shogun,and Chase Gormley makes his UFC Heavyweight debut.UFC 104: Preliminary bouts air free on SpikeTV.
SpikeTV will start airing the UFC 104 preliminary bouts at 9pm. All fights may not be shown but it will definitely get the mood set for the pay per view.
UFC 104 Preliminary Bouts
In a lightheavy weight bout season eight winner of the Ultimate Fighter and undefeated Ryan Bader will make his UFC PPV debut against Eric Schafer. Bader won the Ultimate Fighter after he defeated runner up Vinny Magalhaes via TKO of the first round. Making his third octagon appearance Eric Schafer has been victorious in both of his fights in the octagon defeating both Houston Alexander and Antonio Mendes in the first round.
Antoni Hardonk and Patrick Barry meet in a Heavyweight battle. Hardonk has been able to finish four out of his seven UFC bouts by TKO and holds a 4-3 record in the octagon his last bout and lost was to Cheick Kongo at UFC 97. Barry who is 1-1 in the UFC won his debut at UFC 92 with a KO victory over Dan Everson, and was submitted at UFC 98 by Tim Hague.
In another Heavyweight bout Stefan Struve welcomes newcomer Chase Gormley to the UFC. After losing his UFC debut to Junior Dos Santos of a first round via TKO, Struve was able to bounce back and defeat Dennis Stojnic via submission is his second octagon appearance. Last scheduled to face Ben Rothwell at the fallen Affliction August pay per view Chase Gormley is coming in hungry and for the win.
In the welterweight bouts Chael Sonnen and Yushin Okami meet. After a short stint in the UFC sister company WEC Sonnen made his way back to the Ultimate Fighting Championships at UFC 95 where he was defeated by Demian Maia. Sonnen returned at UFC 98 where he faced Dan Miller and won the unanimous decision. Sonnen’s opponent Yushin Okami will walk into the octagon on a three fight win streak with victories over Jason McDonald and Evan Tanner and his last victory over Dean Lister at UFC92.
The other Welterweight bout on the card features Ron Kimmons and Jorge Rivera. A contestant on the Ultimate Fighter season four, Rivera was last seen in the octagon at UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann with a split decision victory over Nissen Osteerneck. With none of his bouts going past the first round, Kimmons lost his only bout to Dan Miller at UFC Fight Night: Diaz vs. Neer since making his UFC debut the same way he won his other two bouts in the octagon by submission. Kimmons is coming on off a submission victory over Joe Vedepo at UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmann.
Rounding up the preliminary bouts are Kyle Kingsbury and Razak Al-Hassan. Kingsbury a contestant on the Ultimate Fighter season eight will make his first octagon appearance since losing to Tom Lawlor by unanimous decision on the TUF 8 finale. Just as his opponent Al-Hassan returns to the octagon after being defeated in his UFC debut at UFC Fight for the Troops via Submission by Steve Cantwell.
