TUF 10 – Episode one Recap - September 16th

Kimbo was definitely the highlight of the night. 15 men entered the room before UFC president Dana White announced his surprise. Kimbo Slice the 16th man to complete the 15 that stood in front of him, with Jackson automatically claiming rights to the internet street fighter sensation.

It was no secret that the other 15 fighter were not surprised or impressed by Dana White’s announcement with Wes Sims saying he thought he was the surprise and Brendan Schaub giving his thoughts as well.

The fighters were evaluated and put through workouts to test their skills. In Evans corner Greg Jackson was on hand helping his pupil chose the best team possible, and in Jackson’s corner he had friend and training partner Tiki Ghosn.

Evans won the coin toss and was given the choice to either choose the first fighter or the first two fights. Evans went with choosing the first fighter, which let Rampage pick the first two fights.

Fellow teammate James McSweeney was the first pick for Team Evans, with Kimbo going to Team Jackson as their first pick.

Zak Jensen was the last man standing and obviously going to Team Jackson seeing as it was Jacksons pick and he was the last man left. You can always count on Jackson for a good laugh when he turned and picked a camera man before finally telling Zak to come on over.

With the teams chosen it was time for the guys to get settled in their new house, before heading back to the gym with Jackson getting the right to chose the first fight. Abe Wagner vs. Jon Madsen was put together by Jackson to fight first in two five minute rounds. Evans seemed to enjoy the match up, by stating that he put a wrestler against a guy that no ground game at all which turned out to be very true.

The match started with Madsen doing exactly what his coaches told him to do take it to the ground. On his back Wagner did not do much to fend on the blows that Madsen was plummeting down opening him up right below the hair line, Madsen continued to work on top until the bell rings, end of round one. Wagner is bloody with a huge gash on the top right hand corner of his head.

Round two starts just as round one did. Once again Wagner is taken down and abused on the ground the fighters are tired. The ref stands them up, but only for Wagner to be taken back down again. Wagner cannot defend. Jackson leaves cage side visibly upset with his team member.

Madsen and Team Evans walks away with the unanimous decision victory, for the first win of the season.
