Coach Rashad Evans takes another victory over Rampage Jackson, making for an unprecedented 7-0 winning streak on this episode of TUF.
TUF 10 House The Ultimate Fighter household contains its usual egos, pranks and smack-talk this week with Wes Sims choosing Matt Mitrione as his latest victim. Mitrione, dubbed ‘the snitch’ by fellow team mates, is increasingly becoming an outcast on the show. Sneaky tactics, dubious complaints about injuries and a generally surly attitude has won him few friends. Sims’ sneaks up on Mitrione while disguised as a ninja and persists with his tormenting over a game of pool, much to the house’s delight. A new bet is made where the heavyweights bet on Mitrione’s break-down. With an explosive temperament, unpredictable mental state and seemingly-huge ego, it just seems a matter of time. Mitrione’s threatening behavior to his fellow team mate Madsen during a sparring session has Evans intervene and cool Mitrione off. It’s unsure if there are sparks to fly in the future, but no out-takes at the end of the episode suggest there’s more to this isolated incident. Fights When the last fights of the first round are announced, with the ex-NFL Mitrione tagged up against Hawaiin Scott Junk, Babyface Jones exclaims: ‘I hope he rips him [Mitrione] a new ***hole!’ Clearly there is little love-lost between Mitrione and anyone. However, in an unexpected clash-of-the-titans type contest, Mitrione and Junk go only two rounds. The first round sees heavy fists and huge blows by both competitors, though Mitrione comes off the better. The second round, however, shows serious stamina problems with both fighters. Neither put much weight behind the shots. It’s clear that the heavyweights just aren’t as conditioned as the smaller fighters. At the end the decision goes to Mitrione, causing Rampage to walk off in disgust and smash a door to pieces. No wonder he’s called ‘rampage’. Fights to Come The last fight of the preliminary round will see the eagerly-awaited Marcus ‘Babyface’ Jones compete against a smaller Michael Wessel. In a battle reminiscent of David and Goliath it’ll be interesting to see how both fighters fare. Will Babyface’s sensitive side get the better of his erratic one, or will the small and tactical Wessel prevail? Clearly both have a lot on the line with only more to come in the next round. Out-Takes The end of the show promises more heated conversation between Evans and Rampage as well as between Rampage and Schoonover over the by-now tiresome ‘tittie’ comment. By what we’ve seen however, and judging by the online talks and media commentators, Big Country is still likely to take the whole show.
