Week Three Recap on the Ultimate Fighter 10

This week’s episode started off with Kimbo Slice talking with housemnate Abe Wagner. Slice talks about God and wondered how long Kimbo Slice would last, stating that when he shaved off his beard that is when he would put Kimbo Slice to rest.

Down in the house the other fighters, analyze the matchup that between Slice and Nelson and pondered the ideas of what a pay-per-view between the too would have been or if it was in fact better that they battle it out on the show.

In training, Rashad explains why he chose Nelson to face Slice saying that he thought Nelson was the only one that would not be intimidated by Slice. Helping out Team Evans this week was fellow teammate and good friend of Evans, Keith Jardine, which caused more problems between Evans and Rampage.

Rampage claimed that Evans told UFC president Dana White that he wanted to keep his belt longer when Evans was offered a fight with him a few months ago, James McSweeney stepped up to defend his coach which resulted in Rampage turning on the Team Evans fighter.

During training Team Rampage said their only concern was with Kimbo’s ground game, and his ability to escape especially if Nelson was to get mount. After Rampage makes it known that Marcus Jones might not fight next it upsets the former NFL player. Rampage lets him know that he should fully recover from his injury before stepping into the octagon, which results in an apology from Jones.

Kimbo Slice vs. Roy Nelson

Round one: Both fighters take it slow feeling each other out. Slice pushes the action and gets Nelson to the fence, however, Nelson is able to get the takedown and gets full mount, before moving to side control. Nelson traps Slice’s hands with his legs and throws punches to the end of the round.

Round two: Kimbo starts off strong with a right and left, Nelson is caught with an uppercut as he tries to close the distance. Kimbo goes for a knee and gives Nelson the opportunity to take him down. Much like in the first round, Nelson traps the arms of Kimbo and pounds away at his head until the ref steps in and ends the fight.
