"The Phenom" Vitor Belfort makes his UFC return when he steps into the octagon this Saturday against Rich "Ace" Franklin in a catchweight bout at 195lbs.

From the American Airlines Center in Texas the Ultimate Fighting Championships 103, features the return of former UFC Lightweight champion Vitor Belfort in the main event. The Heavyweight bout of the night sees Mirko “Cro Cop" take on Junior Dos Santos in the co main event. See the undercard

UFC 103 – Main Event: Belfort vs. Franklin

Fighting out of Xtreme Couture, Belfort last graced inside the UFC octagon at UFC 51 – Super Saturday where he was defeated by Tito Ortiz via Split decision. He makes his long awaited return after competing in the British promotion Cage Rage and the now defunct Pride Fighting Championship and Affliction.

Welcoming back Belfort to the octagon will be former UFC Middleweight champion Rich Franklin. Competing for the second time at the 195lb mark in a catchwieght bout. Franklin emerged victorious in his last fight over “The Axe Murderer” Wanderlei Silva after he took all three rounds by unanimous judge’s decision at UFC 99: The Comeback.

UFC 103 – The Main Card

Filling out the rest of their September card, features a Heavyweight bout between Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and Junior Dos Santos. Coming in off a first round TKO over Mustapha Al Turk at UFC: 99 where there was controversy surrounding the finishing of the fight when Al Turk was unintentionally poked in the eyes by Cro Cop.

Dos Santos made his UFC debut at UFC: 90 Silva vs. Cote, where he finished off former UFC Heavyweight Fabricio Werdum via KO of the first round. In similar fashion at UFC 95: Sanchez vs. Stevenson he continued so show the power in his hands when he TKO’d Stefan Struve. In his third octagon appearance Dos Santos will have to watch the legs “Cro Cop” as “Cro Cop” will have the hands of Dos Santos to watch out for.

UFC 103 features two Welterweight showdowns the first bout sees Paul Daley make his UFC debut against Martin Kampmann. Kampmann was originally scheduled to face the injured Mick Swick for the number one contender spot for a title shot at reigning Welterweight Champion Georges “Rush” St. Pierre. The second on the card puts Josh Koscheck back in the octagon since his TKO loss to Paulo Thiago against returning mixed martial arts veteran Frank Trigg, who last stint in the octagon saw him defeated by Georges St. Pierre at UFC 54.

Having been off for just under a year sidelined by injury Hermes Franca returns to the octagon to meet Tyson Griffin in a lightweight bout. Both fighters step into the octagon off a victory.
