Six undercard bouts are scheduled for the UFC 105 undercard, and SpikeTV will be airing select bouts before the main card beings.
UFC 105 Preliminary Bouts
Welterweights Paul Taylor and John Hathaway will battle it this Saturday. Taylor carries a 3-3 record in the octagon, on Taylor’s first UFC appearance he walked away with an impressive :37 knock out victory over Ediberto De Oliveira at UFC 70: Nations Collide. Taylor is coming in off a unanimous decision over Peter Sabotta at UFC 99: The Comeback. In his third octagon appearance, former Cage rage Fighter John Hathaway has been victorious in his two previous bouts in the UFC with wins over Thomas Egan in his UFC debut and a unanimous decision victory over Rick Story at UFC 99: The comeback.
Submission artists Terry Etim and Shannon Gugerty will meet in this lightweight bout. After a victorious debut at UFC 70: Nations Collide with a first round submission victory over Matt Grice, Etim suffered two back to back losses to Rich Clementi and Gleison Tibau before getting himself back on track. Etim enters the octagon on a three fight win streak with his last win at UFC 99: The Comeback after submitting Justin Bucholz in the second round. Gugerty is 2-1 in the octagon with both wins coming by way of submission. In Gugerty debut match he was able to put Dale Hart away with a rear naked choke and his last appearance at UFC 100 saw him take a first round victory over Matt Grice via submission. There is no doubt this match will me a submission bout.
Unbeaten Ultimate Fighter season 7 competitor Matt Riddle takes on Ultimate Fighter 9 competitor and England native Nick Osipczak. Since making his UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter 7 finale Riddle is 3-0 in the octagon with victories over Dante Rivera, Steve Bruno and Dan Cramer who he faced at UFC 101: Declaration and took the decision win. Making his second appearance in the octagon, Osipczak was successful in his UFC debut submitting Frank Lester in the first round.
Paul Kelly and Dennis Siver both walk into their bout on a two fight win streak. Siver made his UFC debut at UFC70: Nations collide where he was submitted by Jess Liaudin in round one. Holding a 3-3 record on the octagon, Siver was able to secure wins over Nate Mohr and Dale Hart at UFC 93: Franklin vs. Henderson. Kelly made his UFC debut in the Welterweight division and earned the unanimous decision over Paul Taylor before dropping a weight class. Now competing in the lightweight division, Kelly had his first match against Rolando Delgado at UFC 99: The Come Back. This will be Kelly second appearance in the lightweight division.
Both making their UFC debut in the lightheavy weight division, are Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jared Hamman. Hamman makes is debut coming in off a win over Poai Suganuma at ShoXC with a 10-1 mixed martial arts record. He will face Swedish LHW Gustafsson who will put his unbeaten 8-0 professional record on the line.
Wrapping up the undercards is another lightweight bout with TUF 9 competitor Andre Winner and TUF 8 Competitor Rolando Delgado. Fighting out of Leicester, England, Winner lost his UFC debut and the title of the Ultimate Fighter to Ross Pearson via unanimous decision. Delgado made his successful UFC debut at the TUF 8 finale after submitting John Polakowski, but fell short in his second octagon appearance where he lost to Paul Kelly at UFC 99: The comeback via unanimous decision.
